Hi friends! It feels like EONS since I last wrote a blog post. Lots of exciting happenings over the last year, but the most notable (and relevant) is that I started working as the Library Director for my town library three months ago. My passion for literature is right up there with my passion for creating and I feel like events have finally converged to settle me into the place where I belong What does this mean for ConstantlyAlice? Lots of great things, actually! It will allow me more time to create for my shop, and I will have access to unlimited sources of inspiration. (Incidentally, these books are excellent resources for guiding you to use your library to inspire your work..)
You can find them here and here. Over the next few months, there will be several new items coming to the shop including:
And hand sewn clothing created with vintage patterns and personally designed patterns with a retro feel
More vintage items including jewelry, housewares and accessories.
You will also find that the website has had a fancy update! Go take a look at ConstantlyAlice.com. Finally, I will continue to blog here about style, vintage, and my creative process, but you will also find me reviewing books (formerly “The Reading Corner” here on the blog) over at The Bohemian Bluestocking. It’s a work in progress, but stop on by next month for my first review! Hugs and Smooches, D
I’m sooo excited to be offering you all a sneak peek at this adorable new book from Lisa Mora, courtesy of the delightful people over at Stitch, Craft, Create. If you’ve never checked out their website before, I highly recommend it. SOOO much crafty fun!
I am totally addicted to school supplies. This time of year, when all the stores are carrying notebooks, pens and glue sticks at rock bottom prices, I buy them in bulk. I have no idea why..although they do end up getting used during the year.
I also take my daughter’s clothes shopping. While I typically avoid the mall for myself, and usually prefer vintage, I can’t pass up a good deal! Today’s outfit was purchased entirely on excursions with my daughter to her favorite stores
It’s time to make room for more new items! Head on over to our ebay shop where the bidding on our lovely clearance items will be starting at $.99 (and for those of you who prefer to “buy it now” that option will also be available at sale prices :))
It’s a great way to start stocking up for those holiday gifts..
I’m not gonna lie, friends. I am SO sick of my face at this point.
This challenge has certainly been testing my ability to find different ways of looking at myself. I know a lot of people who have done challenges like this one talk about how they discover a new appreciation of their features, a new way of seeing themselves. Not I, dear ones. I’m really just very tired of myself. I have noticed that as I near the end of the challenge, the pictures I take resemble me less and less. I prefer to turn my camera outward
That all being said, here are a few of the images from the last few weeks!
If I had to pick one that was most like “Me”, I would have to select this last one. Silly, slightly self mocking duck faces with my girls <3
If you’d like to follow along to the very end, you can find me on instagram at @constantly_alice.
My daughters, Shannon and Riley, have helped out with ConstantlyAlice for the last year or so. They have GREAT ideas and wonderful style.
Shannon helps out modeling with ConstantlyAlice, but Ry is a wee bit too young for our demographic..enter Connie & Allie
Our new line will carry items for the under 10 crowd. It will have the same mission as ConstantlyAlice, to offer whimsical, unique vintage and handcrafted pieces. Some of the things we will carry are retro style clothing for girls, gift items, purses and bags, jewelry and accessories and a line of Connie & Allie dolls.
Here are a few of the kinds of things you can expect to see!
Ry is very excited to be our model..here she is practicing some of her poses
Hugs and Smooches,
PS..Have you checked out Whimsy, our new magazine, yet? You can find it here!
I’ve been working on a little surprise for you all over the last few months. ConstantlyAlice now has it’s own magazine!
It’s called Whimsy and it features DIY, Blogging tips and lots of Etsy love My wish is to keep expanding it to include as many artists, creatives and crafty folks as I possibly can and to use it to promote wonderful vintage and handcrafted Etsy items.
Surprise! An outfit post :) It’s not so brutally hot today, so I’ve taken a small break from my outfit post sabbatical to share these nifty leggings with you..(I also have them in different shades of pink). I love them so
